11.01.07 - Single Parents and Displaced Homemakers Program, spring 2008 textbook vouchers

MEMORANDUM
TO: Legal Education Majors

FROM: Cynthia N. Kimura, Counselor

DATE: November 1, 2007
SUBJECT: Single Parents and Displaced Homemakers Program, spring 2008 textbook vouchers

Rec’d 10.31.07 from Single Parents and Displaced Homemakers Program

We are receiving Perkins funds to support Single Parents and Displaced Homemakers Program (spdh) students enrolled in and classified as vocational/technical majors. Unfortunately, we cannot assist those who are not yet accepted and preparing for voc/tech majors with Perkins funds. We do have a limited amount of donor funds to support spdh students who are Liberal Art majors preparing for transfer or taking courses to apply for our select majors.

The amount of assistance we offer for textbooks is $150 for 9 or more credits, and $100 for 6-8 credits. Other eligibility requirements include completing a SPDH intake application, and residency, GPA, and FAFSA criteria. All requirements are listed on the attached form fillable documents. The deadline is November 15th. The number of Perkins eligible students who have applied for our assistance has been dwindling over the past year, and we hope you can assist both your students and our program by identifying those who are eligible to receive these funds.
