Paralegal Program FAQs

How long is the program?
The AS degree normally takes four full time semesters to complete. Since the majority of the program students are full time working adults taking one or two classes each semester, completion of the program could take five years or longer to complete. The Legal Education department does not have a time limit by which the program must be completed. Completion of the program may depend on several factors, such as the number of classes enrolled in per semester, transfer credits awarded, work schedules etc. Students with transfer credits have completed the program in two full time semesters and one summer session.

What degree will I be awarded upon completion of program requirements?
You will receive the Associate in Science (AS) degree.

How many paralegal related certificates are offered?

Two Certificates of Completion (CC), Legal Research & Writing and Litigation are offered.
