Student Conduct and Expectations
As a student, what is expected of me?
You are expected to be a willing and prepared learner by:
- having a open mind ready to learn new concepts and methodologies
- being courteous, respectful, and attentive to your classmates and instructors
- attending all class sessions
- being on time to each class session and if late entering without disturbing the class
- being prepared for class by reading and completing all homework assignments
- internalizing instructor comments and suggestions and reflecting upon them on assignments and in class
- being an active, contributing, and constructive participant in the learning process
- heeding instructor directions and if in doubt or confused asking for clarification
- reading and adhering to the course syllabus
- contributing to a positive and nurturing classroom climate
- checking regularly and responding timely to your @hawaii.edu email
- seeking academic advising each semester or using your degree audit, STAR
- reading and understanding the Student Conduct Code and Disruptive Behavior Policy and the Student Academic Grievance Procedures
