STEP I.

STEP II .
SUBMIT admission application to the Kekaulike Information and Service Center (Admissions Office), Ilima 102, Kapi`olani Community College, 4303 Diamond Head Road, Honolulu, HI 96816-4421 by the published deadlines.
Fall entry, classes start in August.
Spring entry, classes start in January.
New applicants/transfer students/returning students must complete and submit to the Kekaulike Information and Service Center (KISC) the "University of Hawai`i System Application Form" with documents for residency determination as required. (Returning students are those who missed one or more semesters and are not currently enrolled at Kapi`olani Community College.)
Current Kapi`olani Community College Students (students attending Kapi`olani Community College the semester of application) must complete and submit a "Change of Major" form available from KISC.
Enrolled Students (students who are currently registered and attending classes at a University of Hawai`i campus other than Kapi`olani) must complete and submit a "Change of Home Institution" form available from their campus admission office. This form is also available from KISC.
STEP III.
TAKE the COMPASS placement test if you cannot provide proof of completion or qualification for KCC ENG 100 or equivalent course. Placement test scores or course completion are required to take English, mathematics, or other non-law courses that are part of the paralegal curriculum. STEP IV.
REQUEST official copies of college transcripts be sent to the Kekaulike Information and Service Center (KISC), Ilima 102, Kapi`olani Community College, 4303 Diamond Head Road, Honolulu, HI 96816-4421 if transfer credits are desired. Transcripts are to be mailed directly to KISC. Hand-carried transcripts will NOT be accepted. Previous colleges should be notified of your current name, if different. Transcripts become the property of the college and will NOT be returned to the applicant. Transcripts will NOT be maintained or returned for NON-ENROLLED students.
STEP V .
NOTIFICATION of admission will come from the Kekaulike Information and Service Center (KISC) by mail. The Legal Education department will send you a "Paralegal Program Student Handbook" which you are responsible for reading.
STEP VI.
ATTEND orientation for all newly accepted paralegal students. New paralegal student orientations are held in July (fall entry) and December (spring entry). At the orientation, registration, transfer credits, course requirements, expectations, parking, and other issues will be discussed. Individual questions will be addressed at the orientation. Information regarding orientation is mailed to students.
STEP VII.
REGISTER for classes according to the specific registration information sent to new, transfer, and returning students by the Kekaulike Information and Service Center. Continuing students follow normal registration procedures.
The KCC Catalog may be purchased from the Bookstore located in the Ohia building or viewed online. The Schedule of Classes booklet is available from KISC, library, or bookstore and online. Course selection information is available in the "Paralegal Program Student Handbook". You may also use the real-time online Class Status site to check the enrollment status of classes.

Applicants who do not enroll in the semester of application must submit a new application for admission and required credentials for any subsequent semester. Admission requirements and application procedures are subject to change.
